How Organizations Apply for a SCCCMH Grant
SCCCMH Grant Application
Eligibility:
Organizations serving the mental health community within Saratoga County, NY, and recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) may apply for funding.
Limitations:
The SCCCMH generally does not consider awards for the following types of requests:
• Activities outside our Mission Statement
• Requests over $1000 (without approval of the SCCCMH Board)
• Salary support
• General operating support
• Multi-year or sustaining project support
• Administrative fees or indirect costs
The SCCCMH will award individual organizations one grant per fiscal year.
Review Process:
All applications are acknowledged. After screening each request, those which do not conform to the SCCCMH policies or procedures will be dropped from the review process.. A member of the Grants Committee will contact applicants whose proposals require additional information or clarification.
The Grants Committee will recommend proposals to the full SCCCMH Board for final approval. Both successful and unsuccessful applicants will be informed of the Board’s decision in writing.
Deadlines:
November 1 Deadline for grant proposals for consideration at the December SCCCMH Board meeting. Grant recipients and unsuccessful applicants will be notified in December.
February 1 Deadline for grant proposals for consideration at the March SCCCMH Board meeting. Grant recipients and unsuccessful applicants will be notified in March.
May 1 Deadline for grant proposals for consideration at the June SCCCMH Board meeting. Grant recipients and unsuccessful applicants will be notified in June.
An organization may apply before the deadline, but the application will not be considered until after the deadline date. Applications must be POSTMARKED on or prior to the deadline date to be considered at the following Board meeting.
Expectations of Grant Recipients:
Successful applicants are expected to:
• Provide status of their funded project to the SCCCMH Grants Committee every six months and at completion.
• Write a brief article for the SCCCMH newsletter (printed in Spring and Fall) regarding your organization, the grant and project impact
• Publicly acknowledge that support was provided by SCCCMH in any internal press (newsletter, website, etc.)
• Respond to requests by local press regarding the grant funding
• Purchase one ticket to the SCCCMH Annual Dinner and present a brief summary of your organization, the nature of the grant received and its impact.
